10 Hours Solo Flight Time (Includes 5 hours of solo cross-country)
3 Hours Instrument Flight Time
1 Night Dual Cross-Country Flight (Includes 10 takeoffs and landings)

Average Time:
55 Hours Total Time
27 Hours Dual Instruction
28 Hours Solo

Average Cost (C-172):
27 Hours Dual @ $145.00 = $3915.00
28 Hours Solo @ $ 100.00 = $2800.00
Books and Supplies = $ 300.00
  Total = $7015.00

With our prepayment plan, you may purchase 10-hour blocks of flight time and receive one hour free for every ten hours purchased. With this method of payment, your total cost would be only approximately $6085.00.

You must be at least 16 years old to solo and at least 17 years old to be eligible to take the flight test. However, there are no age minimums (or maximums) for when you can begin taking lessons.

You must also be able to pass a 3rd class FAA medical exam, and a FAA written exam (60 multiple choice questions). When you meet the requirements and pass the flight test, you will immediately be issued your Private Pilot’s Certificate, which allows you to carry passengers anywhere in the U.S., Canada, and most other nations. While a pilot’s certificate never expires, you must keep your 3rd class medical certificate and have flight review with an instructor every two years in order to stay current.
